Job Title: Electronics and Software Engineer
Reporting to: Electronics Team Lead
Location: South Yorkshire
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
About the role:
This role is to support the design, test and development of electronic products, specifically around power distribution, power storage, and power supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-development of power supply design
- Development of DC power chain, safety features and power storage
- Development of DCDC renewable energy integration into the DC power chain
- Research and test for verification of design
- Design of PSU electronics and interfacing systems
- Schematic & Layout capture in Altium
- Development of validation tests for the PSU’s
- Executing tests to defined test plans & pass criteria
- Assisting in commissioning of the Power Chains, on site where required
- Responsible for the Safety of the high power systems
- Communication with external suppliers and clients of issues, recommendations, and learnings
Person Specification:
Essential Experience/skills
- Power management
- DC/DC converters
- High Current(1000A) 48V DC power distribution or similar
- Power supply technology
- Autocad
- Design for EMC compliance
- Some power electronics experience preferred
- Understanding of developing power conversion products (rectifiers, inverters, UPS, battery chargers
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of microcontrollers
- LabView
- Altium
- Ansys
- FPGA – Xilinx
- Backplane design
- Power conversion design for renewable energy
- Experience with AC mains
